Paul Heeley Artist - Originals
Paul Heeley takes inspiration for his work from his native West Yorkshire. His interest in art grew ten years ago after purchasing a painting of the cobbled streets of his childhood by Bradford artist Bob Barker who he now considers a mentor. After a year of tuition, Paul Heeley found his medium in oils, preferring the fluidity and manipulation on canvas to create his atmospheric Northern street scenes.
He won his initial Open Art Competition by public vote at his first attempt. Building on that success, he refined his style and held a charity exhibition. This had a twofold positive effect with Paul's work becoming collectable and gaining a following and a substantial sum raised for the hospice.
Paul always pays special tribute to his mentor who he credits with giving him the skills to turn his ideas into paintings. Paul Heeley still lives in West Yorkshire and continues to use his love of this metropolitan and industrial county in his artwork.
